ZA Jessani

Academic consultant, social activist, writer, poet and public speaker, admired for his critique on changing socio-political norms. Associated with modern globalization.

Zulfiqar Ali Jessani was born in Sukkur, a small town in Sindh, Pakistan. Here he acquired his early education and then joined a medical college to complete the dream of becoming a doctor. After two years of study, he was compelled by circumstances to give it up. When he resumed his education he selected subjects like philosophy, history, culture and civilization and literature.

In the year 2000, he joined ITREB, Pakistan where he got an opportunity to interact with and learn from national and international scholars. He regards his association with Al-waaz Aitamadi Kamalludin Ali Muhammad and Zarina Kamalludin as one of the best experiences of his life as he sees they are his mentors and teachers who trained him for public speaking. They always encouraged and inspired him to take initiatives.

Jessani has penned nine books. His first publication came out in 2007 under the title “kawish”. He and Kamal sir have jointly authored five of the books. He also used to write columns for Business Recorder sometimes.

He is grateful of his parents, family members, students and teachers who were supportive in his journey.

Poet and devotional Songs

 

He has been blessed with the poetic skills and his collection of poetry is also published under the title “Khuwab Suhane le Aye”. His particular area of interest is devotional songs/Ismaili geet. In early 2000 Mr. Kabir Roy produced musical album “Dhanak 2” which was released by Nazimabad Orchestra. He was the major lyricist of this album. Golden Jubilee year became the major turning point. In this year, he contributed songs for a number of albums which includes: “Khushi”, “Jubilee rut”, “utsav”. “Sunehra Safar” turned out to be an outstanding achievement. It was a lyrical composition covering remarkable events of Imamat of our beloved Hazar Imam. “Dil ki Sadah” was another Golden Jubilee memorabilia which was released from Calgary, Canada.

On the occasion of Diamond Jubilee 2017, he updated the lyrical history and produced Shah nama e Karim”. He also contributed songs for “Shaan e Ali” and “Shukran” released from Canada and USA respectively. In the same year his three more albums “Jashn”, “Milan” and “Darbar” were also released from Pakistan.

Over a period of time Jessani earned respect and recognition for his academic contribution within and outside the community.

His life could be summed up in two words: “learning and teaching”. As he says: “Throughout life I have tried to learn something and communicate it to others and have always found it joyful. Nothing is more significant than this for me
